The Summer Palace PostcardsThe Summer Palace covers more than 290 ha in the northwestern suburbs of Beijing. More than 30 buildings are scattered around Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake, the two major scenic spots within the garden. The Palace contains masterpieces of classical Chinese architecture and gardens in the styles of various parts of the country. In 1998 the Summer Palace was put on the World Heritage list by the UNESCO.
